In 1853 the Buckingham Bank amalgamated with banks in Aylesbury and Banbury to form the Bucks and Oxon Union Bank. The headquarters for this bank was the Lloyds TSB building on Market Square shown above. In 1902 Lloyds took over the Bucks and Oxon Union Bank.
